IN COMMUNITY CLEANUP EVENTS THIS SATURDAY
Council Vice President Sheila Niezgodski Encourages Participation in Community Cleanup
Events This Saturday
Council Vice President Sheila Niezgodski is encouraging residents to participate in two community cleanup
events this Saturday, April 11, 2026.
6th District Neighborhood Cleanup
The cleanup will focus on the area along Gertrude Street, from Ewing Avenue to Chippewa Avenue.
Volunteers should meet at the Rum Village Nature Center at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments, supplies, and
instructions. The cleanup will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Tire Collection Day
Also on April 11, the St. Joseph County Solid Waste Management District will host Tire Collection Day.
For this one-day event, the annual disposal limit of eight tires per household will be waived.
County residents may bring automotive tires from residential properties to 828 Kerr Street, South Bend,
IN 46601. Collection hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
