BILL NO. 90 -86 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7667 -86 FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE CALENDAR YEARS 1987, 1988 AND 1989. This bill had first reading. Council Member Barcome made a motion to suspend the rules and have public hearing and second reading on this bill, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried on a roll call vote of nine ayes. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on this bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Michael Vance, Controller, indicated this bill upgraded foremen in other departments. He indicated the bill should be amended in the Cemeteries by changing the foreman III position to foreman. He indicated that the Century Center finance committee had recommended the position of Morris Civic Theatre manager by increased and this bill reflected that increase. He indicated that Section II relates to the sick leave formula that pertains to Teamsters and non -union personnel. Council Member Beck made a motion to accept the amendment, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, as amended, seconded by Council Member Beck. The motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council Member Taylor made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by Council Member Beck. The motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 7675 -86 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7667 -86 FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE CALENDAR YEARS 1987, 1988 AND 1989. This bill had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to amend this bill, as amended in the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member Paszek. The motion carried. This bill had first reading. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to suspend the rules and have public hearing and second reading on this bill, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried on a roll call vote of nine ayes. Council Member Taylor made a motion to reconvene as the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member Voorde. The motion carried.
