SUBJECT: Sale of City Property, 3814 S Michigan St
The Department of Community Investment is asking for the Board of Public Works to award the
bid and sign the purchase agreement for the sale of City property at Vac Lot 39 Michigan, South
Bend, IN 46614 with K.R. Palmer of Palmer Funeral Homes Inc, of 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South
Bend, IN 46615, an adjacent property owner.
The Board of Public Works advertised the sale of Vac Lot 39 Michigan on 03/13/2026 and
3/20/2026. Bids were opened at the Board of Public Works regular meeting on 04/14/2026.
Palmer Funeral Homes Inc was the sole bidder for the property with a bid of
$7,550.
The total cost owed to the City will be $8,606 This includes $8,450 Bid Award Amount, $100
Advertising Fee, $10 Transfer Fee, $26 Recording Fee, and $20 County Disclosure Form Fee.
