AN ORDIANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BUREAU
OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND
LAYNE- NORIEIERN, MISHAWAKA, INDIANA FOR THE INSTALLATION
OF A TEST WELL (MAYFLOWER PLAZA ON INDIANA TOLL ROAD)
IN THE TOTAL AMUNT OF $4,850.00.
STATEM NT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
This ordiance concerns installation of a test well field performance
analysis at a proposed site located on Indiana Toll Road property at the
old Mayflower Road Plaza. The test well will determine whether sufficient
water of good quality is available for a permanent well field to serve the
far northwest sector.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMN COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the Contract entered into between the Bureau of
Water of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and Layne- Northern, Mishawaka,
Indiana, on the 17th day of July, 1979, pursuant to advertising and
receipt of bids as installation of a test well is necessary in the
operation of the Bureau of Water, in a total amount not to exceed
$4,850.00 as bid, is hereby approved and confirmed:
Layne- Northern $4,850.00 (low bid)
SECTION II. This Ordiance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption by the Cm= Council and approved by the Mayor.

SUBJECT: Ordinance for Installation of a Test Well (Mayflower Plaza
on Indiana Toll Read)
The Bureau of Water is presenting an Ordinance to the Common Council
for the in installation of a Test Well on the Mayflower Plaza (Indiana Toll Road).
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Indiana and
were found competitive. The Contract was awarded to Layne- Northern, Mishawaka.,
Indiana, by the Board of Water Works Commissioners on the 17th day of July, 1979,
as being the lowest and best bid. The total amount of this expenditure will be
$4,850.00 as bid by Layne- Northern.
