AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BUREAU
OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, IDNIANA, AND
PEERLESS - MIDWEST, INC., GRANGER, INDIANA, FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF AIRPORT NO. 4 IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF
$37,132.00.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
To approve the construction of Airport Well No. 4 as construction
is required in the operation of the Bureau of Water.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the contract entered into between the Bureau
of Water of South Bend, Indiana, and Peerless - Midwest, Inc., Granger,
Indiana, on the 18th day of December, 1978, pursuant to advertising and
receipt of bids as the construction of same is required in the operation
of the Bureau of Water, at a total cost not to exceed $37,132.00, is
hereby approved and confirmed.

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

SUBJECT: Ordinance for construction of Airport Well #4

The Bureau of Water is presenting an Ordinance to the Common
Council which will approve the construction of Airport Well #4.
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Indiana
and were found competitive. The Contract was awarded to Peerless- Midwest,
Inc., 51255 Bittersweet Road, Granger, Indiana, by the Board of Water Works
Commissioners on the 18th day of December, 1978, as being the lowest and
best bid. Total net amount of the bid $37,132.00.
