COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 Members of the Council 4th floor Council Chambers County -City Building South Bend, IN 46601 Dear Council Members: 219/284-9483 There will be presented for your consideration at first reading of the December 11, 1978 meeting an ordinance appropriating $200,000.00 of revenue sharing funds for the purchase of 35 police patrol units. This appropriation is necessary, since motor equipment for the police depart- ment was one of the 1979 budget reductions approved by the Council. It was indicated at that time that additional funds would have to be appropriated for this expenditure at a later date. The Board of Works has received a low bid from Basney Ford of South Bend on October 24, 1978 of $199,965.15. It is anticipated that the City will take delivery of these vehicles in early January upon approval by the Council. If you have any questions, feel free to contact my office.
