Re: Morris Performing Arts Center Capital Improvement Appropriations Ordinance
Dear Mr. Kelly,
I attach for filing with the South Bend Common Council an Ordinance requesting an
appropriation of $83,900.00 within the Morns Performing Arts Center Improvement Fund (Fund
416). Revenues from this fund are generated by the ticket surcharge and the fund is used
exclusively for capital improvements such as renovation, remodeling, and specifically here,
equipment to improve the facilities.
The improvements for which the Morris Performing Arts Center desires appropriation consist of
the following:
$38,500.00 Dumpster/Compactor. Construction of an outside area (at
the rear of the facility) with electrical service is needed to
enclose a leased compactor for the disposal of refuse from
the Morris Performing Arts Center complex.
$17,000.00 Security. Security devices need to be added to the exterior
building doors. Cameras and additional security equipment
also need to be added to the interior of the building,
particularly in the interstitial.
$16,700.00 Awning/Canopy. Canopies are needed to complete work
on the facade at the Morris Box Office entrance and for the
Colfax side of the building in conjunction with the Palais
Royale grand entrance.
$6,000.00 Telephone System. Computer cards for the telephone
system are needed to update functions of the system such as
the Box Office Information Service lines and to connect the
