South Bend Common Council to Induct 2026 Youth Advisory Council
The South Bend Common Council will formally induct the 2026 cohort of the South
Bend Youth Advisory Council (SBYAC) on Monday, January 12, 2026. During this
ceremony, student leaders will take the official oath of service, affirming their
commitment to civic engagement and community leadership.
The annual induction reflects the Council’s continued commitment to uplifting youth
voices and ensuring young people play a meaningful role in local governance. The
2026 cohort includes students from every high school in St. Joseph County,
representing a diverse range of backgrounds and perspectives.
Established in 2017, the Youth Advisory Council has a strong legacy of developing
future leaders, with alumni going on to achieve academic success and pursue careers
rooted in service and civic responsibility.
