ORDINANCE NO.6t,�b --ji AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $50,000.00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING GRANT FOR MOTOR EQUIPMENT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: Additional funds are needed to administer certain programs and to insure the City's ability to properly perform its functions during the year 1979. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The sum of $50,000.00 for the year 1979 from the General Revenue appropriation is to be administered by the Parks and will be distributed as set forth PROGRAM FA 180 PARK MOTOR EQUIPMENT ACCOUNT DESCRIPTION 722.0 Motor Equipment is hereby appropriated Sharing Fund. Department of Public Parks Administration Building St. Louis Boulevard at Wayne Street South Bend, Indiana 46617 Mr. Roger Parent, President South Bend Common Council County -City Building 227 West Jefferson Bouelvard South Bend, Indiana Dear Mr. Parent: The Department of Public Parks approve the enclosed ordinance from general revenue sharing to PHONE: (219) 284 -9401 July 3, 1979 is requesting the Common Council to for the appropriation of $50,000.00 account #722.0, Motor Equipment. At last years budget hearing, with the Mayor, our motor equipment account request was reduced by $66,500.00, however, the Mayor agreed to the use of Revenue Sharing Funds to restore $50,000.00 back into the motor equipment account. Equipment to be purchased with the revenue sharing funds are: Eight various sizes of trucks, which are listed in the 1979 Park Department budget; one car to replace a 1973 Ford for the Recreation Department; cushman truckster; walking greensmowers; 60" riding power rotary mower; and a 48" riding power rotary mower. The Park Department feels that the funds to purchase the above listed equipment is definitely needed for the operation of the Park Department and respectively requests the council approval of the enclosed ordinance.
