South Bend Common Council Elects Officers for 2026
Last night during its annual organizational meeting, the South Bend Common Council
Elected Council officers for 2026. The Council elected 1st District Councilmember
Canneth Lee to serve a second term as President, 6th District Councilmember Sheila
Niezgodski to serve as Vice President, and 4th District Councilmember Troy Warner
to serve as Chair of the Committee of the Whole. Bob Palmer will also return as
Council Attorney. Council President Lee states:
“We thank At-Large Councilwoman Rachel Tomas Morgan for her service as Vice
President in 2025. As we move forward, the Council remains committed to working
together for the greater good of South Bend and its residents.”
