AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $7,000.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED TO
AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR DEFREYING THE
EXPENSE OF PROVIDING A FIRE WORKS DISPLAY IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE ETHNIC FESTIVAL. THIS
APPROPRIATION WILL BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRA-
TION AND FINANCE.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
WHEREAS, the Administration has decided
considerable interest in the community in support
fire works display in conjunction with the Ethnic
Fourth of July.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The sum of $7,000.00 is hereby appropriated for
the year 1979 from the Federal Assistance Grant commonly
referred to as Revenue Sharing. This appropriation will
be administered by the Department of Administration and
Finance and will be distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council
approval by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all
statutory requirements for emergency appropriations.

The attached ordinance is for the purpose of appropriating $7,000.00
from the General Revenue Sharing Assistance Grant Fund. The monies
will be used for defraying the expense of providing a fire works
display in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival this Fourth of July.
Since there appears to be a considerable amount of community interest
in support of a fire works display, I hope you will give this ordinance
a favorable recommendation.
