AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE BUREAU
OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND (1)
BASNEY FORD, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; (2) GATES CHEVROLET,
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; AND (3) SHAMROCK FORD, SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES IN
THE TOTAL
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
To approve the purchase of motor vehicles as purchase of same is
required in the operation of the Bureau of Water.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the Contracts entered into between the Bureau of
Water of Bend, Indiana, and (1) Basney Ford, South Bend, Indiana;
(2) Gates Chevrolet, South Bend, Indiana; and (3) Shamrock Ford, South
Bend, Indiana on the l7th day of April, 1979, pursuant to advertising
and receipt of bids, in a total quantity and a total cost not to exceed
the quantity and cost itemized for each classification in the amount of
$48,671.07, are hereby approved and confirmed:
1. BASNEY FORD
l - 1979 1/2 Ton Pick Up $4,367.61
1 - Four Wheel Drive Wagon $6,2_ 9
$10,663.16
2. GATES CHEVROLET
2 - 3/4 Ton Trucks $9,750.00
1 - Low Bed Dump Truck $7,575-00

3. SHAMROCK FORD
1 - Full Bed Dump Truck $20,682.91

TOTAL $48,671.07
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in force and effect from
and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

SUBJECT: Ordinance for Purchase of Trucks
The Bureau of Water is presenting an Ordinance to the Common Council for
the purchase of six trucks.
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Indiana and
were found competitive. The Contracts were awarded to (1) Basney Ford, South Bend,
Indiana; (2) Gates Chevrolet, South Bend, Indiana; and (3) Shamrock Ford, South
Bend, Indiana, by the Board of Water Works Commissioners on the 17th day of April,
1979, as being the lowest and best bids. Total net amount of this purchase is
$48,671.07.
