AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $29,800.00 OF TITLE XX
GRANT MONIES FROM THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND YOUTH
SERVICE BUREAU FUND FOR VARIOUS YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU
ACTIVITIES DURING THE PERIOD JULY 1, 1979 THROUGH
JUNE 30, 1980.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In that additional funding is needed for the Youth Service
Bureau to provide a full summer program, and provide extra funds
for intern activities, and in that the City has obtained a State
of Indiana Title XX Grant to fund these activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The sum of $29,800.00 is hereby appropriated
from the Crime Control Fund. This appropriation is to be administered
by the Youth Service Bureau as set forth below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval
by the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements for
emergency appropriations.

Attached is an appropriations ordinance.for Title XX funding in the amount
of $29,800. This represents funds the Bureau anticipates through Title XX, the
Indiana Office of Social Services, in reimbursement for services which include
school counseling, general recreation (Summer Fun Program), special recreation
(after school recreation), the campership programs, and the purchase of t- shirts,
shoes, and socks for the camp program. This contract is for the period July 1,
1979 through June 30, 1980.
These appropriations offset the cost to the Bureau of providing the above
named services and were anticipated in both the 1979 and 1980 requests for
funding from the City of South Bend.
