The bill does not change
the substance of the ordinance as it only serves to increase the available hours of zero cost
public safety support from forty (40) hours to forty-eight (48) hours per event. The practical
impact of this change will allow for up to twelve (12) officers on site for no more than four (4)
hours per officer. This change should continue the City's efforts to support special events
throughout our community.
If you or any of the other Council members have questions concerning the report or need
additional information, please feel free to call me at (574) 235-9817.
Sincerely,
Lt. Brad Rohrscheib
South Bend Police Department
Service Bravery Pride Dedication
