HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-01-29 Redevelopment Authority Minutes SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY RESCHEDULED REGULAR MEETING January 29, 2003 1:30 p.m. Presiding: Ms. Carolyn Pfotenhauer 1308 County-City Building 227 West Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, IN 46601 The January 29, 2003 Regular Meeting of the Redevelopment Authority was called to order at 1:33 p.m. by its President, Carolyn Pfotenhauer. There was a quorum present. 1. ROLL CALL Members Present: Ms. Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer, President Mr. Jose Alvarez, Secretary Member Absent: Mr. Cleo Washington, Vice-President Redevelopment Staff: Mr. Owen Rock, Assistant-Director Mrs.. Jenny Hullinger, Recording Secretary • 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. Approval of the minutes of January 15, 2003 Upon a motion by Jose Alvarez, seconded by Carolyn Pfotenhauer, the Authority approved the Minutes of the Annual Organizational and Special Meeting of January 15, 2003. 3. NEW BUSINESS a. Authority approval requested for Resolution No. 151 of the South Bend Redevelopment Authority approving the transfer of real property to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. Mr. Rock said this .6 acre parcel of land has been subdivided from lot number 2-C in the Blackthorn Corporate Office Park. This parcel is being sold to Mr. Jack Young of Storion Group, LLC. Mr. Young is currently constructing a 13,000sft building for the FAA. Presently, Mr. Young has one building in the corporate park. He started construction on a 8,000sft building for the FAA, but they then requested it be 13,000sft. He will build their building and then finish the 8,000sft building and lease it. Mr. Alvarez asked if the building for the FAA will create additional employment. Mr. Rock said they are presently leasing in town, and this will be more space than they currently have, but he is not sure if this will add new jobs. CLAIMS Claims previously reviewed and recommended for approval by the Director of Economic Development on January 29, 2003. Century Center Refunding Bonds of 2001 Mathews-Purucker-Anella, Inc. Remodeling 3,590.05 Carpet Service Outlet Ina Carpet Portable Stages 4,256.88 Upon a motion by Mr. Alverez, seconded by Ms. Pfotenhauer, the Authority approved the claims submitted January 29, 2003. 6. NEXT MEETING DATE: February 19, 2003 7.
