ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68,
AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
(Chapter 21, Municipal Code).
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 4990 -68, as amended, which
ordinance is commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City
of South Bend, Indiana, be and the same hereby is amended in order
that the zoning classification of the following described real
estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of
Indiana marked as "Exhibit A" which is attached hereto and made
a part hereof be and the same is hereby established as a type "B"
residential zoning classification in type "F" height and area
district.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval
by the Mayor and legal publication.

I, the undersigned make application and petition and Motion
to A.mmend the Zoning Ordinance as herein requested.
1) The property sought to be rezoned is Lots No. 197 and 198
along with the portion of an alley running South from Navarre
Street which is to be vacated and borders upon the existing South
Bend Medical Foundation and Lots 197 and 198 on the East and
West sides respectively and will be vacated to the rear of the
existing structure.
2) The name of the property owner is South Bend Medical Foundation,
Inc., 531 North Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, Telephone No:
234 -4176.
3) It is desired and requested that this property be rezoned
from a classification of B residential with "A" Height and Area
to B residential with "F Height and Area.
4) The rezoning is requested so as to allow the following uses:
(a) space expansion for use as a clinical laboratory to
increase the quality of services rendered as well as the
to increase the quantity of Mboratory testing performed.
(b'l to allow space for expansion resulting in improved
conditions thereby improving the care and treatment of
outpatients..
(c) to increase the capacity of the blood bank which
serves the community in its ability to handle donors
and general operations,
5) Attached hereto is a copy of:
(a) legal description of the property to be rezoned.
(b) a list of names and addresses of all property
owners within 300 feet of the petition property.
(c) a site plan.

Street to a point 99 feet South, described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of lot 187 as
shown on the recorded plat of the Original Plat of
South Bend, Indiana; thence South along the West
line of lots 187 and 188 in said recorded plat,
99 feet to the Southwest corner of the North 1/2
of said lot 188; thence West 14 feet to the South-
east corner of the North 1/2 of lot 197 as shown on
said recorded plat; thence North along the East
line of lots 197 and 198 in said recorded plat,
99 feet to the Northeast corner of said lot`198;
