The minutes of the previous meeting held on June 25, 2025 were approved.
3. Approval of Special Events
Linden Avenue Farmer’s Market – July 12; August 9; September 13, 2025
Speaker: Mary McAfee
Description: Mary discussed the market's role in addressing food disparity in South Bend by providing fresh produce at
reasonable costs. The market runs from May to September.
Decision: The committee approved the event dates for 7/12, 8/9, and 9/13/2025.
Fun in the Park – August 10 2025
Speaker: Catherina Zmud
Description: Catherina presented the McKinley Terrace Neighborhood Association's block party on August 10, 2025, which
includes a partial road closure for safety.
Decision: The committee approved the event.
CITY OF SOUTH BEND IN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
Touch a Truck – August 16 2025
Speaker: Patrick Slebonick
Description: Patrick introduced a new event by the Studebaker National Museum in partnership with The History Museum,
scheduled for August 16, 2025. The event will feature various trucks for children to explore.
Decision: The committee approved the event.
SBC-5K Peace Run – August 23 2025

Description: The committee discussed the recurring event scheduled for August 23, 2025. The event primarily uses trails
and involves minimal road closures.

South Bend Riley High School Homecoming Parade – September 26 2025
