Mr. Alvarez asked if there was an update on the Easement Amendment that was tabled at

counsel has not had the time to finish it. Mr. Rock said he will remind her that we want to
finish it up.
• Mr. Inks updated the Authority on the major renovations on the Century Center and said
there will be a number of claims to cover the renovations. The site is being cleared for the
TJX project and they will begin to pour the foundation the first part of July and it should
be operating by next July. Mr. Alvarez asked if there was any word on Scottsdale Mall or
Kmart, as well as some businesses that closed on Lincolnway West. Mr. Inks said Mr.
Hunt had been talking to a number of individuals concerning Scottsdale Mall. The City is
working with a consulting group that works nationally. They will be doing a study on
retail opportunities and conditions in the city of South Bend. Mr. Alvarez expressed
concern about the businesses that closed on Lincolnway since it is the gateway into the
city from the airport. Mr. Rock said the first meeting with the consulting group included
the businesses that had closed. The group was encouraged by what South Bend Heritage
has done with rehabilitating their building and the new site for Teacher's Credit Union.
South Bend Heritage believes that as these businesses progress they will spur others into
locating on Lincolnway.
