ORDINANCE NO. 6697 -79
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PERTAINING
TO ANNUAL VACATIONS FOR CITY PERSONNEL.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana that Section 2 -120 of Article 8 of Chapter 2 of
the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall
be amended in paragraph (a) thereof to read as follows:
SECTION I. Paragraph (a) of Section 2 -120 of Article 8
of Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend
shall be amended to read as follows:
(a) Each and every appointive officer, employee, deputy,
assistant and departmental and institutional head
shall be entitled to an annual vacation as follows:

days of paid vacation;
(4) Those having sixteen -f16j eight (8) years' but
less than tweRtY4203 sixteen (16) years' service
with the City: TweRtY4283 Fifteen (15) working
days of paid vacation;
(5) Those having twenty -f284 sixteen
but less than 20 years' service with the City;
Twenty- tive -053 Twenty (20) working days of
paid vacation;
(6) Those having twenty (20) years' of service but
less than twenty -five (25) years' service with the
City: Twenty -six (26) days of paid vacation;
(7) Those having twenty -five or more years' service
with the City: Twenty -eight (28) days of paid

SECTION II. All above references to years, indicate a com-
plete year of employment upon the employee's anniversary date.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in effect January 1, 1980
from and after it's passage by the Common Council, approval by the
Mayor and fulfillment of all statutory requirements.

The negotiated work agreement between the City of
South Bend and Teamster's Local No. 364 contains
a change in the vacation schedule to be effective
January 1, 1980, The negotiated change is reflected
in the attached amended ordinance,

THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PERTAINING TO ANNUAL
VACATIONS FOR CITY PERSONNEL.
Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion THIS BILL SHOULD BE RECOMMENDED
TO THE COUNCIL FAVORABLE, AS AMENDED:
Add a new Section II to read "All above references to years,
indicate a complete year of employment upon the employee's
anniversary date."
