AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $300.00 AMONG
THE VARIOUS BUDGET CLASSIFICATIONS OF
THE DEPARTMENT OF LAW WITHIN THE GENERAL
FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adop-
tion of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to
transfer funds from one account to another in the annual budget for
the various expenses of the Department of Law. It has been ascertained
that certain accounts in the Department of Law budget have greater
funds than are needed at this time, while others have an insufficient
amount. Accordingly, this Ordinance is intended to adjust the accounts
of the Department of Law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
SECTION I. That the following accounts be reduced in the amounts
as follows:
Account Description Amount
550.0 Subscriptions and Dues $150.00
261.2 Title Insurance and Abstracts 150.00
$300.00
SECTION II. That the following accounts be increased in the
amounts set forth as follows:
Account Description Amount
262.1 Law Books $300.00
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the
Mayor and fulfillment of all statutory requirements for emergency
appropriations.

The attached ordinance is being introduced in response to
certain extraordinary conditions which have developed within the
Department of Law since the adoption of the existing annual budget.
Funds are being transferred into account number 262.1 (Law Books) to
meet necessary expenditures which must be made by this Department
prior to January 1, 1980.
