The Board of Public Safety met in a Special Meeting at 8:06 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013, with
Board President Patrick D. Cottrell and Board Members Laura Vasquez, Eddie Miller and John
Collins present. Board member Luther Taylor was absent. Also present was Board Attorney Andrea
Beachkofsky. The meeting was held in the Board Conference Room, Ste. 1308, County City
Building, 227 West Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Indiana.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
APPROVE CONTINUATION OF HEARING OF CHARGES NO. 2013 -03 — PATRICIA BYRD
President Cottrell informed the Board that Attorney Thomas Dixon has requested to continue the
Hearing of the above Charges, and the City is in agreement with his request. In an Agreed Motion to
Continue Hearing, Mr. Dixon suggested the date of the Hearing be rescheduled for either May 10 or
May 13, 2013. After consultation, upon a motion by Mr. Collins, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried,
the Board approved the resetting of the Hearing of Charges 2013 -03, Patricia Byrd, to May 10, 2013,
at 10:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers, 4th Floor, County-City Building.
RESET HEARING OF CHARGES N0.2013 -01— THEODORE ROBERT
President Cottrell stated that Attorney Douglas Grimes informed the Board that he was not available
for the Hearing of Charges No. 2013 -01 on the date the Board previously set of May 10, 2013. Mr.
Cottrell stated Mr. Grimes and the City have June 6 and June 7, 2013 available. He suggested the 6th
would be preferable in case the Hearing extends to two days, the 7th could also be reserved.
Therefore, upon a motion by Ms. Vasquez, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, the Board set the
Hearing of Charges No. 2013 -01, Theodore Robert, for June 6, 2013, at 8:00 a.m. in the Common
Council Chambers, 4th Floor, County City Building.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Cottrell declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:12 a.m.
