(oq aS-- Sa AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $24,000,00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY KNOWN AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, TO FUND THE POSITION OF SAFETY BOARD ASSISTANT,_ TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF LAW. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: Additional funds are needed by the Department of Law to fund the newly created position of Safety Board Assistant during the year 1980. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. The sum of $24,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year 1980 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. The appropriation is to be administered by the Department of Law and will be distributed as set forth below, ACCOUNT 110.0 PROGRAM FA 193 SAFETY BOARD ASSISTANT DESCRIPTION Wages, Regular TOTAL FA 193 AMOUNT $ 24,000,00 $ 24,000.00 SECTION II. I specifically am filing these Ordinances the last meeting in 1979 so that they may be acted on as early as possible in 1980 as several of these contain salaries which need early approval in order to be paid starting January 1, 1980. The Board of Works held its intended use hearing on December 10, 1979 as required by law on requested citizen input. I have also spoken with Mayor -Elect Roger Parent, and made him aware that we would be filing these Ordinances. I would be happy to meet with.the Council or provide any additional information you may feel is necessary.
