AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $66,775.15
FROM THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING
FUND TO THE GENERAL IMPROVEMENT FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Certain Barrett Law Sewer Projects have been constructed in accord-
ance with bids and resolutions submitted to, and approved by the
Board of Public Works. The City of South Bend has been assessed
the sum of $66,775.15 for part of Phillipa Street Sanitary Sewer
and funds are needed for payment of this assessment. The Cumulative
Sewer Building and Sinking Fund has been established and can legally
incur this cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I. That the sum of $66,775.15 be appro-
priated— from the Cumulative Sewer Building and
Sinking Fund to the General Improvement Fund, for
costs as set forth below:
Phillipa Street Sanitary Sewer $66,775.15
(Calvert to Highland)
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by
the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements.

The attached Ordinance appropriates the sum of $66,775.15 for the City's
share of part of the Phillipa Street Sanitary Sewer Project being con -
structed under the Barrett Law project. This cost is for the sewers
constructed on Phillipa Street (Calvert to Highland). The total cost
of the project is $133,605.79. The City's share of the total cost was
$66,831.31, however, the City incurred legal advertisement costs on
behalf of the project in the amount of $56.16, which was credited against
the City's share, leaving a net assessment to be paid of $66,775.15.
We ask that you give favorable consideration to this Ordinance.
