Honorable Council Members:
This appropriation is necessary to pay the cost of tuition for the
training of four Firefighters to be trained and certified as
Paramedics.
The School is being conducted through St. Joseph's hospital and is
thirteen weeks long.
The Fire Department currently is two Paramedics short, having ten
rather than the necessary twelve. The Department's intention is
to eventually have eighteen trained and certified Paramedics. This
will allow a ready reserve to compensate for injury, illness, vaca-
tions and relief.
The Fire Department respectfully requests your approval in this
matter.
Sincerely,
Timothy J rassell
Fire Chief
