AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $14,000.00 FROM
THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMTONLY REFERRED
TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR THE 1980
ETHNIC FESTIVAL, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF
ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Common Council of the City of South Bend recognizes
the importance of ethnic groups in the history of the community
and wishes to encourage the promotion of the community's ethnic
heritage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THIS CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The sum of $14,000.00 is hereby appropriated
for the year 1979 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund,
commonly referred to as General Revenue Sharing, for the 1980
Ethnic Festival. This appropriation is to be administered
by the Department of Administration and Finance as set forth
below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force

Enclosed for your.consideration is an Ordinance appro-
priating the sum of $14,000 from General Revenue
Sharing funds to be used for the Ethnic Festival.
This appropriation will be used to fund the City's
portion of the Ethnic Festival, and this is the third
year running that these funds have come out of General
Revenue Sharing.
The Board of Works held its Intended Use hearing on
January 14, 1980, as required by law.
I would request the Council's favorable consideration
of this bill, and if any additional information if
required, please feel free to contact this office.
