The Contractor covenants and agrees to make the following improvement, as fully set out in the Request for Quotations, Standard Specifications, Special Provisions, Plans, and Bid Proposals, all of which are set forth as a part of this Contract, for: DESCRIPTION: SOFFIT REPLACEMENT STATION 2 COMPLETION DATE: SEE SPECIFICATIONS AMOUNT: $21,150.22 FUNDING: SERVICES & CHARGES REPAIRS & MAINTENTANCE BUILDING R&M The unit prices for this improvement were those prices as received and accepted by the Board on the 24th Day of June, 2025. JeƯerson Blvd. South Bend, In 46601 RE: Approval Request for SoƯit Replacement at Fire Station 2 The purpose of this memorandum is to seek approval from the Board of Public Works for the soƯit replacement project at Fire Station 2. The project involves the removal and replacement of the so Ưit material along the exterior porch to facilitate the repair of the dry fire suppression system. To ensure the selection of a qualified contractor, quotes were solicited from three companies. The responses received are as follows: 1. Vera Construction: Provided the lowest and most responsive quote, attached for reference. 2. R Yoder Construction: Submitted a quote, which is attached for reference. 3. Cruz LLC: Did not respond to the request for a quote. Based on the quotes received, Vera Construction has been identified as the lowest responsive quoter. Their proposal meets the project requirements and ensures coordination with Ryan Fire Protection during the soƯit replacement process. I respectfully request the Board of Public Works to approve the quote from Vera Construction for the soƯit replacement at Fire Station 2 at the next meeting. Yoder Construction, Inc. (RYC) is pleased to deliver a proposal to replace approximately 1,930 SF of existing soffit on the wrap around porch. We will provide a unique customer- oriented experience while delivering the exceptional quality and value we have been known to provide since our inception in 1978. Pricing is based on the 5/29 email from Todd S. and the 6/9 site walk with the owner. The attached drawing and subsequent take-offs are a result of field measurements. Section II: Proposal Scope of Work Division 1: General Requirements 1. Assign Project Manager to the project 2. Provide daily and final clean up. 3. Removal of all construction debris. 4. Provide a (1) year workmanship warranty 5. Working hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday Division 2: Existing Conditions 1. Remove approximately 1,930 SF of existing soffit. 2. Remove (5) existing light fixtures and turn over to the owner. 3. Remove and reinstall (3) “attic vent” louvers. 4. Remove and reinstall (1) dryer vent cover. 5. Remove and reinstall (1) speaker. Division 6: Wood 1. Modify existing porch soffit framing to accommodate (2) 30”x30” attic scuttle holes. a. Attic scuttles to be lay in panels that match the adjacent finish. Division 7: Thermal & Moisture 1. Furnish and install new 4’x8’ LP Smartside Panel soffiting with batten strips. a. Color: TBD by Owner from manufacturer’s standard prefinished selections. b. Section III: Proposal Clarifications/Exclusions 1. Proposal does not include: a. Modifications to any adjacent finishes. b. Painting other than listed above. c. Electrical modifications other than listed above. d. Sprinkler system. e. Plumbing or HVAC. f. Low voltage wiring. Section IV: Base Cost Based upon the above guidelines, RYC proposes a project cost of $27,685.00 Section V: Payment Terms Balance due upon completion.
