The City purchased this lot in 1992. Per direction from the Executive Director of the Department of Community & Economic Development (C&ED), the City, through C&ED, will now work with its partners prior to disposition of City property located in their project areas. In this case it is the Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization Organization (NNRO). Habitat for Humanity (HFH) recently expressed interest in another City -owned lot on Campeau, the disposition of which the NNRO opposed. However, the City and NNRO were both committed to assisting HFH in locating another lot in the general area. The City -owned vacant lot at 1247 Howard was identified, suggested to HFH, and received their approval; hence, their request for this lot. C&ED supports this request from HFH and recommends an expedited disposition. If the Board approves this request, please notify me and Central Services. Central Services is responsible for mowing City -owned vacant lots, and notice would afford them the opportunity to remove this lot from their mowing program.
