SUBJECT: Dedication of Right of Way for Dylan Drive
Project No. 106-035
DATE. November 3, 2006
The South Bend Redevelopment Commission has acquired land in Portage Prairie
for dedication as Dylan Drive from its current terminus in U.S. 31 Industrial Park northward
to Adams Road. The Commission offers the attached Deed of Dedication for that right of
way for Acceptance by the South Bend Board of Public Works.
The right of way offered is seventy feet wide. That meets the requirements of the
Portage Prairie developer and the Department of Public Works. An Agreement is in place
between the City and the developer for the first phase of development in Portage Prairie
which includes construction of Dylan Drive and a large industrial building that is dependent
upon Dylan Drive for access. Both parties have brought resources to the task of
completing the agreement in a timely manner, as agreed.
I recommend acceptance of the Deed of Dedication of Dylan Drive, its subsequent
recording, and notification to the Area Plan Commission that the dedication has been
accomplished.
