AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $30,000.00 FROM THE
LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND, TO R & S 7903,
IRELAND ROAD, FELLOWS TO U. S. 31, WITHIN THE
LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to bring Ireland Road from Fellows to U. S. 31 up to the
standards necessary to meet existing traffic needs, certain improvements
have been proposed.
Additional funds are now needed to pay the cost of construction of
these improvements. These funds are available from the Local Road and
Street Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I: The following sums of money are hereby appropriated and
ordered set apart out of the Local Road and Street Fund for the project in
the amounts set forth below:

SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and

RE: Ireland Road Widening - Additional
Appropriation

The attached ordinance requesting $30,000.00 as a supplemental
appropriation to R & S 7903 is intended to allow this office to add
the resurfacing of the entire Ireland Road roadway from Michigan to
Fellows. A previous appropriation made in 1979 allowed for the widen-
ing of this section of Ireland Road. It had been the intention that
the roadway be resurfaced by Street Department forces in 1980. How-
ever, due to the lack of Motor Vehicle Highway Funds available for
use toward this end, I have chosen to utilize Local Road and Street
Funds to supplement our existing funding toward the completion of
this project.
