AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $39053.00
FROM VARIOUS ACCOUNTS TO VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN
Y.S.B.- H.E.W. FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In that certain extraordinary conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing budget for the Y.S.B. Department,

it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated
in the original budget for various functions of 'the Y.S.B. Department
to meet such extraordinary conditions; and
In that additional funds are needed for various accounts
within the Y.S.B. Department to assure the Depaitmeni'sotability oupraccounts
perform its functions, and in that a p

Re: Enclosed Ordinance
Date: May 2, 1980
The enclosed ordinance would allow the Youth Service Bureau to transfer funds
among various categories within our H.E.W. grant which supports the Youth Service
Bureau Runaway Shelter. The current grant ends on June 30, 1980. This request
is being made to cover projected overruns in some line items by transferring funds
from line items not being expended.
A complete explanation follows:
1. Personnel: Increase by $1,800.00. This covers salary needs through the end
of June, 1980. These funds will include 100% salary of one part -time family
therapist. This position is currently being paid from Youth Service Bureau's
rapidly depleting Title XX funds.
2. Building Repairs: This line item is being reduced by $250.00
3. Contractuals: Increased by $100.00 to cover cost of annual audit.
4. Medical Expenses: Decreased by $100.00
5. Other Supplies: Decreased by $800.00
6. Liability Insurance: Decreased by $50.00
7. Rent' Increased by $225.00. During the month of December, 1979 rent was paid
at both 520 North Lafayette and 1322 Lincolnway East- We moved the shelter

8. P.E.R.F: Decreased by $999.00
9. Furniture: Decreased by $854.00
10. Other Equipment: Increased by $928.00. Covered additional cost over estimate
of fire alarm system and kitchen equipment.
