The attached is an ordinance requesting an appropriation of $540,000.00
from the Local Road and Street Fund to be used for the Colfax Avenue Bridge
Project. At the present time there are insufficient funds in the Local
Road and Street Account. By the time of expenditure of the appropriation,
(February, 1982), the anticipated receipts for 1982 will exceed the funds
required to cover the proposed ordinance.
On November 10, 1976 the City entered into an agreement with the State of
Indiana to engage in the reconstruction of the Colfax Avenue Bridge. The
State of Indiana, acting through the Indiana State Highway Commission, has
ordered us to appropriate funds for the City's share of this project.
These funds are available from the Local Road and Street Fund.
If you should have any questions regarding this proposed ordinance or re-
quire any additional information, please contact me at your earliest
convenience.
Very truly yours,
