As you know, there is currently a vacancy on the Community Police
Troy Warner Review Board. This proposed resolution appoints Dr. De Bryant to fill this
Fourth District vacancy with a one-year term. Dr. Bryant was nominated by Dr. Davis.
Sherry Bolden-Simpson Please file this proposed resolution and place it on the agenda for the
Fifth District' Community Relations Committee meeting for May 28, 2025, and the full
Sheila Niezgodski Council meeting later that evening.

A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL APPOINTING DR. DE
BRYANT TO A ONE YEAR TERM AS A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY POLICE
REVIEW BOARD
WHEREAS, Section 2-12.1.13(a)(2) of the South Bend Municipal Code addressing the
Community Police Review Board provides: The initial Review Board shall be composed of
three (3) Members appointed to a one (1) year term; three (3) Members appointed to a two
(2) year term; and three (3) Members appointed to a three (3) year term; and
WHEREAS, there is currently a vacancy among the members of the Review Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
South Bend appoints Dr. De Bryant, nominated by Dr. Oliver Davis, to a one-year term as a
member of the Community Police Review Board.
