Attn: Ken Hoy 1703 S. Ironwood Dr. South Bend, IN 46613 Re: A/C System Replacements Dear Mr. Hoy: We are pleased to quote you on the work associated with the replacement of the air conditioning systems for AC-1 and AC-4, as well as the furnaces associated with AC-4, on the site of the City of South Bend Traffic & Lighting Building at 731 South Lafayette Boulevard in South Bend, Indiana. To provide clarity to our quotation, all items are laid out in a start -to -finish work sequence. We propose to perform the following: • Disconnect and remove the existing Carrier twinned vertical cased coils from furnace systems AHU-1 and AHU-4 and discard off -site. o All utilities will be taken back to a point suitable for reconnection. • Disconnect and remove the existing humidifiers and discard off -site. o All utilities associated with the humidifiers will be demolished and removed. The water lines will be permanently capped to prevent future leaks. • Disconnect and remove the twinned furnaces for system AHU-4 and discard off -site. • Modify the existing return air base for AHU-4 as required to accommodate the new furnaces. • Furnish and install two (2) Carrier 96% efficient, 60k BTU furnaces for system AHU-4 and set on the original return air plenum base. o Carrier Furnace M#: 59SC6A060M17-16 • Furnish and install two (2) Carrier twinned, cased vertical coils with thermal expansion valves (TXV's) and set on top of the new and existing furnaces. o Carrier Coil M#: CAVTCOIL408A00 • Furnish and install two (2) Carrier 7.5 Ton, 460V/30, single circuit condensers with two -stage compressors and set on the wood supports on the roof. o New wood supports furnished and installed by Slatile. We will add additional wood supports on top of these to support our new units as needed. o New units are to be hoisted to the roof by Slatile when they are setting the other existing units. • Furnish and install all applicable sheet metal as required to build new supply air transition pieces to connect between the new cased coils and the existing supply air ductwork. • Furnish and install 1%" thick x %# density foil faced fiberglass ductwrap on the new supply ductwork transition pieces and tie-in to the existing duct insulation. • Furnish and install 2" Schedule 40 PVC pipe with DWV pattern solvent welded fittings to connect the new furnaces to the existing furnace 2" intake and exhaust pipes. • Furnish and install Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe and fittings to connect the new furnaces to the existing furnaces. • Furnish and install Schedule 40 PVC pipe with pressure pattern solvent welded fittings to connect the new furnaces and cased coils to the existing condensate piping system. ,10E VqUIr 1011 South Michigan Street • South Bend, IN 46601 Phone: (574) 289-6351 • Fax: (574) 289-3755 OQ ® www.ejwhiteinc.net Licensed— Bonded— Insured IN License #CP81021273 • Furnish and install all required line voltage to connect the new furnaces to the existing electrical circuits. • Furnish and install all required line voltage to connect the new condensers to the existing electrical whips/circuits. • Furnish and install one (1) Carrier low voltage twinning kit (#AGATWNDTE0IA) to join the operation of the two furnaces, matching the operation and sequencing of the existing systems. • Reconnect all applicable low voltage wiring to the new furnaces and condensers. o Existing thermostats will be reused. • Pressure test the existing refrigerant piping with Nitrogen to a minimum of 350 PSI for atleast 24 hours to ensure no leaks are present. o Our pricing is based on reusing the existing refrigerant piping. The piping will be pressure tested and checked to ensure no leaks are present. o We have verified with Carrier that the existing refrigerant piping sizes will work for the new equipment. • Flush the existing refrigerant piping with Nu-Calgon RX11 refrigerant line flush and Nitrogen to ensure all impurities including debris, oils, moisture and other non-condensables have been removed from the system. • Furnish and install Type "L" OXY/ACR nitogenized (cleaned and capped) copper with cleaned and bagged fittings to reconnect the existing refrigerant piping to the new coils and condensers. o Includes a new filter drier for each condensing unit. o All fittings will be brazed with 15% silver brazing alloy. • Furnish and install %" thick Armaflex rubber insulation on all new interior refrigeration suction piping. o Insulation work performed by Valley Insulating Co. of Mishawaka. • Furnish and install %" thick Armaflex rubber insulation on all new and existing exterior refrigerant suction piping associated with these two condensing units. o Insulation work performed by Valley Insulating Co. of Mishawaka. o Does not include reinsulating the exterior refrigerant suction piping associated with the other, existing condensing units. The insulation on these lines is rotten and has fallen off. The lack of insulation greatly reduces the efficiency of the refrigeration systems. We would suggest that while the insulator is on site, they provide a price for your consideration to reinsulate these other existing lines. • Pressure test the completed refrigerant system to a minimum of 350 PSI to ensure no leaks are present. • Triple evacuate each system to a final standing vacuum of 250 microns or less to ensure a clean, tight system with no debris, moisture or other non-condensables. • Charge each system with new, virgin, R-410A refrigerant in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and charging instructions. • Provide documented start-up of the new furnace and A/C systems in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements. • Includes clean-up and demobilization for our scope of work. • Includes all applicable permits with the City of South Bend Building Department for our scope of work. • Includes a full one (1) year labor and material warranty on all Edward J. The new furnaces are furnished with a one (1) year parts and twenty (20) year heat exchanger parts warranty. We will perform the work as described above for the sum of Forty -Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty -Four and 00/100 Dollars ($49,734.00).
