Dear Members of the Common Council:
Attached for your consideration is a proposed Ordinance establish-
ing a service fee of $3.00 for Police Department accident reports.
Before September 1, 1981, a fee of $2.00 was established by State
statute. Effective September 1, 1981, I.C. 9 -3 -1 -3 requires that the
Common Council pass an Ordinance setting a service fee of at least $3.00
per report.
This proposed Ordinance would bring the City of South Bend into
compliance with that statute.
If you have any questions, I would be happy to discuss them with
you at your convenience.
Very truly yours,
Dan D. Thompson, Chief
South Bend Police Department
