J,9 I 'd — AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $25,000 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FOR THE COM- MUNITY ORIENTED POLICING PROGRAM TO BE AD- MINSTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA THROUGH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: WHEREAS, the Administration and Common Council wants to improve public safety of the City of South Bend through the Community Oriented Policing Program. Monies are now needed for start -up costs for the C.O.P. substations. These funds are available in the General Revenue Sharing Fund. SECTION I. The sum of $25,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year 1981 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund commonly known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation is to be Administered by the Police Department and will be distributed as set forth below: PROGRAM FA 220 Community Oriented Policing Program Account Description 260.0 Other Contractuals 410.0 Building Materials 725.0 Office Equipment SECTION II.
