This year has been marked by significant progress and impactful initiatives aimed at promoting equality,justice, and human rights within our community. HRC conducted 10 workshops and training session on topics such as fair housing, conflict resolution, tenant and landlord rights, and appraisal discrimination. HRC successfully resolved 94 discrimination complaints, ensuring fair treatment and justice for all parties involved. HRC was able to refer 198 citizens to local agencies for assistance. HRC was able to implement a streamlined process for handling complaints, reducing resolution time by 20%. HRC hosted the 33rd Annual Human Rights Commission Awareness and Awards Luncheon, attracting over 280 participants and featuring speakers, workshops, South Bend Community School Corporation performances, and local musical talent. These achievements would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of our dedicated staff, Mayor James Mueller, and community partners. The HRC team is grateful for your continued commitment to fostering a community where every individual is valued and respected.
