Added a second class-due to popular demand-in 2024 • National Night Out (over 50 vendors in 2024). • Neighborhood meetings (52 of them) plus 12 (monthly) apartment complex management meetings and 12 monthly Community Crime-Stat meetings= 3rd Wednesday of every month at PD. • Back to and out of school cookouts w/SBPD Bounce-House debut. • Cops-n-Goblins= 7,500+ with a record 150 vendors, partnering with the SB Cubs and Century Center...Exceeds 2023 record of 120 vendors. • Police Athletic League (PAL)= 1,642 in 2023...1,760 in 2024: Boxing, all sports camp, swim/first aid lessons, tennis, Yoga, tutoring, track & field, mentoring, and Women's self-defense. All free! • Toys-for-Tots and 77 other special events (NDFB and events, Fusion Fest). 3,934 DTSB/East Race patrol hours. • Santa's "Elficers"= over 600 kids!! • SBPD Food Pantry and necessities drive, including Holiday deliveries (Thanksgiving and Christmas). SFU, CR®'s and Strategic Intel • 189 `worst of the worst' cases arrests resulting in 211 felony charges, 80 were firearms related, with 173 search warrants, 205 firearms. • 8 lbs marijuana, 303 grams synthetic material/substance, 3.2 lbs cocaine, 106.45 lbs meth, 524 ecstasy pills, 2.25 lbs heroin, 13.1 lbs fentanyl. • 242 cases via FUSUS, 80% city-cameras, 17% business and/or partner cameras, 3% combination. • 151 Flock/LPR case successes (83 in 2023)-NOTE: instrumental in 4 out of our 7 homicide cases. • Resource Router = 26,215 personnel hours via 72 missions per day at a 99% completion rate. • 2,976 crashes, 6 fatalities. 3,328 traffic citations issued. Training/Recruiting • 19,686 total training hours plus 20 Regional Academy classes hosted (471 total sworn L/E attended our facility), including; 'Stop the Bleed'/CPR/First Aid/Narcan, CIT, Wellness/Peer Support, State Mandates (human trafficking, autism, Domestic Violence, Alzheimer's, Mental Awareness, Below 100, APS and DCS) . Simulator includes de-escalation scenarios. All new hires = Implicit Bias training. Every officer = Psychological Response and Compliance, De-escalation, Mental Illness and L/E Crisis Response. • NOTABLE: Hired 21 in 2021, 51 in 2022, 28 in 2023, and hired 13 more in 2024 = 113 officers in 4 years. • Start to hire = 4-6 weeks... prior it was 4-6 months, often longer. Statistics • 706 illicit firearms recovered, 723 tested ( 17 from previous year(s)), *556 tested for outside agencies* = 1 ,464 leads achieved . • 4,199 casings collected and processed (addl. 1 ,894 outside agencies). • Crime lab = 510 cases processed, 450 prints examined, 334 prints obtained for use resulted in 58 `hits' through AFIS, and 157 were identified . • *Obtained prints from a 30 year old "cold case", and DNA from another "cold case". • SBPD is #4 nationally per ATF in processing/turnaround time for ballistics. Statistics • 138 Custom Notifications (PD only). • 26 "drug letters" sent, Nuisance warning stage, designated Chronic Problem Property. • SWAT = 96 training above 24 minimum. 25 activations resulting in 20 apprehensions and 28 firearms...all without incident. • K-9 = 307 deployments resulting in 33 apprehensions, 29 firearm recoveries, 306g marijuana, 14g cocaine, 78 lbs methamphetamine and additional 48 hours training above 24 hours mandate. • HNT = 12 activations, all resolved without incident. • Bomb Squad = 21 deployments, 10 were in SJC which resulted in 48 items of explosive/energetic material(s). Detective Bureau • 3,589 total investigations. 861 cases submitted for prosecution, 428 cases charged , 242 awaiting decision, 144 prosecutor request follow-up...only 47 were declined charges. • 7 homicides, 5 were by gunfire. 62 CAS shooting victims. Homicide case closure = 100%! ! National solve average is 57%.
