As it works to become a Bicycle Friendly Community, the City of South Bend has developed bicycling goals. The goals are divided into
sections based on the League of American Bicyclists’ 5 Es: Engineering, Education, Encouragement, Enforcement, and Evaluation & Planning.
Each goal has one or more actions to be completed in the 2018-20-time period. The agency or organization with a lead role in implementing
the action has been identified, as has potential partners where applicable. For those actions with a significant cost, a potential funding
source has been identified.
The following abbreviations are used in the goals and action plan below:
