The Human Rights Commission has a contract with the
Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Under the contract the Commission receives funds from
the Federal agency for investigating charges of employ-
ment discrimination. The attached Ordinance will allow
the South Bend Commission to continue this relationship
with EEOC and at the same time more effectively enforce
the City's Human Rights Ordinance prohibiting discrimi-
nation.
Your favorable consideration of this Ordinance is
appreciated.
