AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $18,500.00
FROM THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO
PROJECT R & S 8002, TRAFFIC PRE- EMPTOR
AND MEDIAN MODIFICATION, WITHIN THE
LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to bring Cleveland Road from Bendix Drive to a point
400 feet West, up to the standards necessary to meet existing traffic
needs, certain improvements have been proposed.
Funds are now needed to pay the cost of construction of these
improvements. These funds are available from the Local Road and Street
Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I: The following sum of money is hereby appropriated and
ordered set apart out of the Local Road and Street Fund for the project in
the amount set forth below:

Total Project $ 18,500.00
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after the passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

RE: Cleveland Road Improvements
Dear Councilmen:
Attached you will find an ordinance requesting $18,500.00 from
the Local Road and Street Fund to be used for a traffic preemptor
and median modification on Cleveland Road from Bendix Drive to a
point 400 feet west. These improvements are necessary in order
to allow access to Cleveland Road from Fire Station No. 11 and
to improve the roadway to make safer conditions for vehicles
passing through this intersection.
