South Bend Common Council
County -City Building

South Bend, Indiana 46601
Dear Mr. Mc Gann:
The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council to
approve the enclosed ordinance transferring $5,500.00 from account
number 620.0, Social Security and $16,500.00 from account number
630.0, Retirement to account number 220.0, Gas (heating) $4,000.00
and to account number 321.0, Gasoline $18,000.00.
There is a surplus in the Social Security and Retirement Accounts
due to the reduction in full time park employees and overbudgeting
in the two accounts. The shortage in the gas and gasoline accounts
is due to inflated costs for gas and gasoline and underbudgeting in
the two fuel accounts.
Account number 220.0, Gas has a balance of $7,600.00 and account
number 321.0, Gasoline has a balance of $5,500.00 for the balance of
1980.
The approval of this ordinance is needed for the operation of the De-
partment of Public Parks.
Very truly yours,
7 DEP MENT OF BLIC PARKS
