AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $7,000.00 FROM THE
LEEPER PARK TREE REPLACEMENT FUND #63.8210 FOR
THE PURCHASE OF TREES AND SUPPLIES WHICH TREES
WILL BE PLANTED AT LEEPER PARK.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Parks would like to replace
the trees destroyed at Leeper Park by the July storms and
WHEREAS, a committee was appointed to solicit funds that could
be used to purchase trees to replace the trees that were destroyed by the
July storms.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
Section I. The sum of $7,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the
Leeper Park Tree Replacement Fund for the purchase of trees which trees
will be planted at Leeper Park. This appropriation is to be administered
by the Department of Public Parks as set forth below:

Section II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Dear Mr. Mc Gann:
The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council's
approval of the enclosed ordinance appropriating $7,000.00 which
was the amount contributed by citizens, business industries, clubs
and organizations for the Leeper Park Tree Replacement Fund.
The fund was established by Mayor Parent and the Board of Park Com-
missioners to replace the trees destroyed by the July storms.
The Mayor, Park Board and the Leeper Park Tree Replacement Committee
appreciates the support the community gave to replace the trees at
Leeper Park.
Your approval of this ordinance will be appreciated.
