AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $14,000.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED TO
AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC
SAFETY PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF
ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Additional funds are needed by the Bureau of Environmental
Control to administer certain Public Safety Programs and to en-
sure the Department's ability to properly perform its functions
during the year 1980.
NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The sum of $14,000.00 is hereby appropriated
for the year 1980 from the Federal Assistance Grant Fund, commonly
known as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation
is to be administered by the Department of Administration and
Finance and will be distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect after its passage by the Common Council, approval by
the Mayor, and the fulfillment of all statutory requirements

The attached bill would appropriate $14,000.00 from Federal
Revenue Sharing to pay for 1980 contractual services with
the St. Joseph County Humane Society.
The Council originally appropriated $100,000.00 for the
Humane Society contract, and on February 15, 1980 the scope
of services provided under the contract was expanded. This
additional $14,000.00 is the prorated amount for the com-
pletion of that contract through 1980.

your convenience.
