Bids were due to the Board of Works on September 24th. There is only adjacent ro ert owner to 623 Indiana, a Mr. Elijah Jones. Mr. jones had expressed an interest in buying the vacant lot and had indicated that he would submit a bid. A bid was not received by Mr. Jones. I called him up today and told me that he had inadvertently missed the deadline and was still interested in buying the lot. I told Mr. Jones to submit a bid now, but could not guarantee him that it would be valid. The question is do we have to re -advertise, or can we accept his late bid? Had the abutting owner not made an offer, and if the offer had come from a member of the general public, my opinion would be different.
