City of South Bend Indiana Michiana Crime Stoppers Update 2024 Year-End Stats Cases 328 Stolen Property/Narcotics Recovered $95,020 Rewards Authorized $86,550 Arrests 254 Firearms Recovered 21 City of South Bend Indiana Strategies & Programs City of South Bend Indiana Traffic Enforcement & Safety Strategy •Across 2024, there were 11,946 total traffic stops, for an average of 32.7 per day •Traffic stops in Q2 and Q3 of 2024 matched 2023 levels, but Q1 saw more stops and Q4 experienced a sharper decline *These are stops for traffic violations only City of South Bend Indiana What The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) leverages the Fusus platform to bring together integrated cameras and other public safety related tools in a centralized hub. Who South Bend Police Department How •Uses integrated cameras and other public safety technologies to provide a more real-time understanding of incidents •30-day photo retention on cloud server •Limited users with an administrator for account reviews Fusus/Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) City of South Bend Indiana City of South Bend Indiana Snapshot of RTCC Case Assists City of South Bend Indiana Situation: Crime Analysts identify a trend of vehicle larcenies and vandalisms downtown. Cameras helped: RTCC analysts connect multiple incidents to the same individual. This led to identification of both the suspect and their crime pattern. Situation: A bank robbery occurred. Cameras helped: RTCC analysts track the suspect’s path of travel. The suspect was observed getting on a Transpo bus where they were observed their mask, leading to suspect identification.
