Department of Public Parks Administration Building St. Louis Boulevard at Wayne Street South Bend, Indiana 46617 PHONE: (2191284 -9401 January 12, 1981 Mr. Lewis Mc Gann, President South Bend Common Council County -City Building 227 West Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, Indiana Dear Mr. Mc Gann: The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council to appropriate $7,640.68 from the Leeper Park Tree Replacement Fund to account #441.0, Seeds, Trees and Flowers. Seven thousand dollars was appropriated in October of 1980 but could not be spent until approved by the State Board of Tax Commissioners which came late in the year. The late approval prevented the Park Department from making any expenditures from the tree fund in 1980. Thirty -three trees were planted at Leeper Park in 1980. The tree planting program will continue in the Spring of 1981. The additional $640.68 was additional contribution to the fund since our original appropriation in October of 1980. Your approval of this ordinance will be appreciated.
