Attached for your consideration is an Ordinance which would appropriate
$18,500 from the 1980 Community Development Block Grant to support the
continuation of the Neighborhood Clean -up Crew, operated by the Neighborhood
Code Enforcement office.
Funds to support a two - person clean -up crew working in the Community
Development Neighborhood Strategy Areas were appropriated last July. The
funds were for a six -month period, during which time the program was to be
evaluated. From August 1 to November 30, the clean -up crew has cleaned
119 lots. We believe this program is making a positive impact on the NSA
neighborhoods, and should be continued as an ongoing Community Development
activity. The $18,500 will provide funding for the seven -month period from
February 1, 1981 to August 31, 1981, as follows:
Description Amount
Salaries and Wages
1 Equipment Operator I ($5.45/hr.) $6,977
