AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING MONIES FROM VARIOUS ACCOUNTS
TO VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE BUDGET OF THE ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION WITHIN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In that certain unforeseen conditions have developed
since the adoption of the existing operating budget of the
Economic Development Commission, it is now necessary to
appropriate more money than was appropriated in the original
budget to meet these unforeseen conditions; and in that
additional funds are needed in certain accounts of said
budget, and in that surpluses do exist in other accounts within
the same department which are not presently needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council
of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. That the following accounts be adjusted as
described below:
Reduce the following account:
721 Furniture F, Fixtures $ 180.50
Increase the following accounts:
230 Instruction $ 20.00
241 Print, Office Supplies Other $ 160.50
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council,
approval by the Mayor and fulfillment of all statutory re-
quirements for emergency appropriations.

After the filing of the year end transfer ordinance for
first reading at your last Council meeting, the Economic
Development Commission made this office aware of its need
to transfer funds within their budget.
This transfer has been requested to cover costs that have
exceeded the budgeted amounts in instruction and printing.
The instruction and furniture and fixtures line items will
be left with zero balances, while the print line item will
have a balance of $128.60 after the transfer.
Because of the late filing of this bill I respectfully re-
quest that the Council suspend its rules at the December 8
meeting in order to have both first and second readings.
