AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL OPERATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT
OF $12,902.00 FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1980, FROM THE SEWAGE WORKS
OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE FUND TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THROUGH THE BUREAU OF SEWERS.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
WHEREAS, unforeseen circumstances have made it necessary to
appropriate more monies than were originally appropriated in the 1980
Operating Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: That for the calendar year 1980, the Council does
hereby approve an additional appropriation in the amount of $12,902.00.
Said appropriation will be administered through the Bureau of Sewers as
set forth below:
312.0 Fuel Oil
620.0 Social Security

Section II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor, and
the fulfillment of all statutory requirements pertaining to emergency
appropriations.

This bill would appropriate an additional $12,902.00 from
the Sewage Works Operation and Maintenance Fund in order
to meet unbud eted 1980 operating expenses. This will leave
a balance of ,159,469.26 in this fund.
The Bureau of Sewers needs additional funds to cover a deficit
in their Social Security account which exists due to under -
budgeting and to the fact that Social Security is now billing
on a monthly basis. The fuel oil account is in need of funds
due to the rising price of fuel oil.
