Funds are available from the Sewage Works Depreciation Fund to make this purchase. The Wastewater Treatment Plant has experienced additional costs for mainten- ance and repair due to sand and debris entering the sewer system and the wastewater treatment plant. The only possible way to eliminate this problem is to remove as much of this type of debris from the streets before it enters the sewer system. We hope to accomplish this goal by the purchase of two street sweepers. This will reduce the long term costs of the treat- ment plant thereby helping to keep sewage rates down.
